Westerfeld Belgians is a family affair with Brian and Joan starting the operation in the summer of 1984. Our family consist of two sons Thad and Travis as well as one daughter,Jessi. The kids all have families with Thad and Jennifer having one daughter Emma and a son, Hayden. Travis and Shari have a son Lane and two daughters Hattie and Ellie. Jessi and Daryl Ellis have two sons Mitchell and Alan and one daughter Grace. (Picture does not include all of the new additions)

What began with two six-month old stud colts in 1984 has grown to an operation that includes 8 brood mares and a two breeding stallions, BJ Strut and Hyjak Chips Ariens, along with several weanlings, yearlings and 2-year olds.

We are set up to ship chilled semen from Ariens and Strut in a NEW and Unique way. We are offer semen from both of these stallions in what we are calling a "Breeding Dose". If you go to the "New" Breeding Program on this site you can get additional information on this program.

While everyone plays a major role in the preparation and showing of the horses, Brian and Joan along with Travis and Shari have formed a partnership and both live on the farm, seeing to the day to day activities. Thad plays a major role in setting up at the fairs as well as getting us prepared for the hitch and halter classes. Jessi does the mane rolling and tail tying. One big team effort.

We show our horses throughout North America. We have been fortunate to have exhibited three All American horses. W.B. Regal Supreme in 1996, W.B. Nevertheless in 2002 and Orndorff's Captain Carrie in 2007. Along with these three All-American we have recieved Reserve All American honors with BJ Strut in 2004.
